This safari, like the one to Ras Abu Gallum, can be done over 1 or 2 days and involves a journey by camel from where the road ends south of Dahab to approx 7.5 kms south to Gabr el Bint, which literally translates as ‘The Tomb of the Girl’.

The remains of a young nomadic Bedouin girl can still be seen in a cave deep in the rock, it is believed she took ill many centuries ago, while travelling and was buried at this beautiful spot, at the foot of the mountains

Dahab excursions

Ras Abu Gallum is a managed resource protected area located to the north between Dahab and Nuweiba covering an area of 400km. The coastal area contains undisturbed coral reef with high diversities of coral reef fish.
Dahab camel safari day tour
The reef at Ras Abu Gallum supports an active Bedouin artisanal fishery, where Bedouin fishermen practice subsistence fishing and supply restaurants and families with fish.

The safari begins at Penguin Divers meeting at 7:00am for coffee and to load the cars with our diving equipment. Heading off for a 20 minute drive to the Blue Hole where we meet our camels and the Bedouin guide, one camel for each diver. 90 minutes along the beach by camel, you will start to see Ras Abu Gallum half way, getting excited as you get closer to the Bedouin huts and dozens of small Wadi's which run down from the mountains of Ras Abu Gallum to plunge right into the sea.

Having tea while relaxing and chatting after the trip, we prepare for the first dive after which we will rest and have our lunch before our second dive. We then head back to the Blue Hole by camel and back to Penguin Divers with a big smile
