Rick’s Reef is located a little to the north of the Canyon. This relaxing drift dive takes you down a slope which is filled with salad corals. This site is ideal for divers who wish to stay fairly shallow and at a nice slow pace just to enjoy the terrific underwater wildlife here. On this dive you can see such great marine life as blue spotted rays, coral groupers, napoleon wrasse and sometimes even turtles. This dive is a favourite of many underwater photography enthusiasts. During this dive you will follow a wall which is covered in a variety of both stony and soft corals. This wall begins at 3 metres and has maximum depth of 18 metres. After about 40 minutes you will have arrive at the ‘fish bowl’ of the Canyon where you will be greeted by all the resident glassfish.

The Caves is the last site on the Southern coast that you reach before arriving at Gabr El Bint National Park. The site is centred around a large open front chamber. The sandy bed below is a home for garden eels and pipefish which are shy and will take cover in the sand as they sense your approach. You can also see peppered morays, puffer fish, sponges and black corals at this site. Entering and exiting this site can be a little bit tricky because of the crashing waves so make sure you are feeling very energetic before embarking on this dive.
