A: Yes, we are located just on the Red Sea shore facing a wonderful spot of coral reefs.
Q:Is Penguin Village near to the centre of town?
A: We are 10–minute walk from the centre of the city.
Q: Is there a sandy beach near the hotel?
A: The sandy beach is 20- minute walk away from our hotel.
Q: Can I snorkel close to the hotel?
A: Yes, a wonderful coral reefs perfect for snorkeling are placed just in front of Penguin hotel.
 

Getting to Penguin Village

Q: Do you offer transfers from Cairo?
A: yes, we do offer a private transportation from any location in Cairo to our hotel in Dahab. Contact us for details of booking a taxi nad prices.
Q: I will be flying into Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. Do you offer airport pick-up?
A: Yes, we arrange airport pickups from Sharm airport. Please contact us for booking information and price.
Q: How do I get to Penguin by my own car?
A: Please, contact us via phone for detailed instructions on getting to Penguin.
Q: I have booked a taxi from Sharm airport to Penguin hotel. Shall I pay to the driver?
A: No. After receiving our confirmation of the taxi booking, please make 50% deposit. The rest of the payment is to be made only to Penguin hotel front desk.
Q: Does the hotel have its car-park?
A: No, but you can park your car just in front of the entrance to the hotel away from a street traffic.
 

Activates – Diving - Trips

Q: I have never dived before. What are my options?
A: It is never too late to try! You have two options: 1/ Introductory dive which is a dive in full equipment but under complete assistance of a professional diving in structure. 2/ An Open Water Diver course – a complex course taking 3-4 days when you are going to learn all basics about diving. After all you are a certified diver. Please, for more information concerning both options contact us.
Q:How do you choose which dive sites you will go to each day?
A: We choose dive locations depending on weather conditions as well as on skills and interest of our clients.
Q: How many days do I need to complete an Open Water Diver course?
A: The OW course is usually completed in 4 days, however it might take only 3 days if the theory part of the course was done in advance through e-learning option.
Q: I plan to visit St. Catherine Monastery and climb Mt. Sinai. Do you arrange these trips?
A: Yes, we organize the trip to Mt. Sinai almost ever day. Please contact us for more details.
Q: What kind of shoes shall I take to climb the Mt. Sinai?
A: The track up to the top of Mt. Sinai is not very rocky, so good walking/sport shoes will do. Although trekking boots are preferable during winter, when it can be freezing or snowing on the summit.
Q: I want to go to Petra and Wade Rum. Can I do it from Penguin?

Q: I have heard that traveling to Jordan requires a pre-entry visa. Is that true?
A: Citizens of most of the countries in the world are allowed to apply for a visa on the Jordanian border, but some nationalities are expected to hold a pre-entry visa. We suggest to contact a Jordanian embassy in your country for information. You may also contact us for help.
 

Accommodation

A: Do all of the sea view rooms have a balcony?
Q: Yes, all of our sea facing rooms are provided with big terraces.
Q: Do sea view rooms have a private bathroom?
A: Yes, all our sea view rooms are provided with ensuite bathrooms with showers.
Q: I am on a tight budget. Do you have anything for me?
A: In Penguin we offer camp style rooms either ensuite or with shared bathroom. There are dorms available as well.
Q: I would like to stay for longer than just one week. Do you offer a discount for long stay guests?
A: We are happy to offer 10 % discount to our guests staying with us at least 14 nights or longer.
Q: Is there a fridge in a room with back view?
A: No. Only our sea view rooms are provided with fridges.
Q: What time do I have to leave my room?
A: The check out time is at 11 am.
Q: Is there a store room I may leave my luggage after checking out?
A: Yes, you can safely leave your luggage at Penguin Reception.
Q: I am planning to arrive very late at night. Will be there anybody waiting for me?
A: Yes, our Reception is open 24/7.
Q: Does the hotel has fresh or salty water in the showers.
A: It is salty water in the showers at Penguin as in all other properties located just on the sea front in Dahab.
Q: Is there a kitchen to use?
A: No, we do not provide a kitchen to our guests, but there is a Penguin Restaurant offering all sorts of meals, drinks, desserts atc.
Q: Is breakfast included in a room price?
A: A breakfast is included in prices we quote, but there is a possibility to exclude breakfast from your booking and your bill.
Q: Are towels provided in your hotel?
A: Yes, we provide towels in our rooms.
Q: Is smoking allowed in your hotel?
A: It is not allowed to smoke inside any room in Penguin hotel. You may smoke anywhere outside as well as in Penguin Restaurant.
 

Services – Booking system - Payments

Q: Is there free internet access in the rooms.
A: Yes, we provide internet access in the sea view rooms at an additional cost.
Q:Can I use internet in the hotel?
A: In Penguin village we provide a wi-fi internet zone in Penguin Restaurant. Down the stairs there is a Penguin internet cafe offering all internet services, copying, faxing etc.
Q: What do I need to check in?
A: Upon your arrival you will be asked to fill in the check in form and present your valid passport (or national ID for Egyptian citizens).
Q: How do I book a room in Penguin hotel?
A: To book accommodation at Penguin, please, fill in a booking form available on the website and send it to us. Filling the form is considered a booking request and our Guest Service employees will answer you within maximum 48 hours with confirmation of your reservation.
Q: The prices on the website are quoted in Euro. Can I pay in Egyptian pounds?
A: Any payment can be made in cash in: Euro, US dollars, British pounds or Egyptian pounds. We also accept credit cards as well as online payments through PayPal service.
Q: Do you accept booking deposit to secure my reservation?
A: Yes, after receiving confirmation of your reservation you are expected to pay 25% deposit. The remaining 75% of a total payment will be paid to us upon your arrival to the hotel.
Q: Is the deposit I have paid refundable in case I do not arrive to the hotel?
A: No. A deposit is not refundable. Please, check the Terms and Conditons section for details concerning a deposit.
